On August 8, 2016, a forum on Peace and the IP Agenda was held at the College of the Holy Spirit, Mendiola, Manila. It was attended by 162 participants, composed of students, members of the academe, church people, IP advocates and NGOs. Ms. Beverly Longid, Council member of KAMP, provided the context of the IP Agenda while Mr. Raymond Palatino of Pilgrims for Peace, provided the framework and significance of the Peace Talks as a platform where IPs can put forward their demands. IP representatives also shared actual experiences on the ground.
The activity aimed to gain a wider support in lobbying the IP’s demands for just peace and genuine development. Also present were artist-singer Aiza Seguerra, now Chair of National Youth Commission, actor and IP rights advocates Liza Dino from the Film Development Council of the Philippines, and other artists and cultural groups who signified their commitment and support for the IPs demand for just peace and development.###
