We have been following the news reports concerning the 7.2 earthquake that struck central areas of the Philippines on Tuesday and in particular the island of Bohol and neighbouring Cebu. We understand the recorded number of deaths is already in the region of 150 persons. We are deeply sorry to hear this and wish to extend the sincere condolences of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) to the members of your churches and the people of your country.

As you know Taiwan like the Philippines is constantly open to natural disasters and from first-hand experiences we can fully empathize with your people and what they are going through. Please be assured of our concern and prayers especially for the grieving victims at this time.
